How to make strawberry jam

Serves 8

  • 1kg Strawberries
  • 1kg Jam sugar or granulated Sugar
  • 2oz Butter
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • I small pinch of Black Pepper

Add 1 oz of butter to a saucepan and bring to heat. Add the strawberries and toss in the butter for two minutes. Add the sugar, pepper and balsamic and mix together. Bring to simmer.

Once simmering, bring to a rolling boil for 5 minutes and then take off the heat. Stir in the remaining butter.

Strawberry jam done! Serve on a scone or with a gin cocktail, a Bristol Hotel special!
