Chocolate & banana milkshake

I love chocolate milk and was experimenting with this milkshake recipe the other day to try to come up with something thick and creamy and a little bit healthier than the versions you can buy in the shops. I think I’ve done it – see what you reckon…

Serves 1

  • 1 tbsp Horlicks
  • 1 tbsp drinking chocolate powder
  • 2 tbsp boiling water
  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 medium banana
  • 300 ml milk

Mix the Horlicks and drinking chocolate powder in a mug or bowl and add the boiling water (use a little more if you need it) until it’s all dissolved and smooth. Add the ice cream (it should melt it a bit).

Place the banana, milk and ice cream mixture all together into a blender and blitz it together until smooth. Adjust the amount of milk to taste – add more if you like a lighter tasting milkshake, or a little less if you like them thick and creamy. Drink!
